Lemon grass essential oil

  • Latin name : Cymbopogon citratus

  • Distilled part : Leafs

  • Origin : Highlands (center of Madagascar)

Properties

  • Anti-inflammatory

  • Anti-fungal

  • Repellent of mosquitoes

  • Deodorant and atmospheric antiseptic

Indications

  • Rheumatism, arthritis, tendinitis

  • Excessive perspiration

  • Presence of mosquitoes (preventive) and mosquito bites (curative)

How to use it?

  • Mosquito's bites
    1 drop in 4 drops of vegetable oil to apply on the buttons as soon as they itch

     

  • Mosquito repellent
    Put  few drops in a oil diffuser, 30-minute to 1-hour intervals to keep mosquitoes away

Precautions

  • For pregnant women and babies, atmospheric diffusion is a possible route of use.

  • In very sensitive people, this essential oil can be irritating to the mucous membranes and cause tears or cough.

  • This essential oil can be used in the kitchen if it is diluted beforehand in a fat (oil, cream, yogurt, milk) or sweetened (syrup, honey). It must not be ingested pure.
